Ramsey Clark, LBJ-era attorney general and civil rights lawyer, dies at age 93 Clark, the son of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Tom Clark, practiced law in Dallas early in his career. President Lyndon Johnson named him attorney general in February 1967. Clark was involved in writing LBJ-era civil rights legislation, prioritized the fight against organized crime, and pushed gun control laws. He was also an anti-war activist -- and he became known for representing war criminals and dictators like Saddam Hussein. He died at age 93.
